Women

The purpose of the Women’s Ministry is for every woman to know Christ personally and be committed to extending His Kingdom in her life, home, church, community and throughout the world. The framework of the Women’s Ministry provides an opportunity for each woman to discern and exercise her gifts and abilities to the glory of God in the total work and worship of the church. The goal is that this purpose will become a reality as women are given opportunities to respond to the Gospel and to pray, study the Scriptures, fellowship, and serve the Lord together. The Women’s Ministry recognizes that all ministries and activities of the church are under the authority and guidance of the session.

Our Redeemer Women’s Ministry encourages women to grow in Christ through the following ideas:

  • Grounding our members in the faith by providing times for spiritual growth through a variety of venues.
  • To help our ladies focus on growing together in our faith and becoming a stronger disciple of Christ.
  • Encouraging regular times of fellowship with our sisters in Christ.
  • Promoting unity and enriching the church’s ministry by serving others.

REDEEMER WOMEN’S EVENTS:

  • We hold a few ladies’ fellowship events throughout the year. The last event for this year is the Annual Cookie Exchange. It will be on Thursday December 7th, at 7:00 p.m. If you are able, please bring a small appetizer or dessert to share. If you would like to participate in the cookie exchange, please bring two dozen cookies so you can fill a box with two dozen cookies to take home! For any questions, please contact Sherri at Hoosfamily8@gmail.com.

Women Nurturing Women

This year, our women’s ministry is focusing on Community. Romans 12:10-13 says:

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing
honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Our primary focus for Bible study is threefold:
● study,
● prayer,
● and relationships.

 Bible Study:

       ● Bible studies are hosted all-year-round!

       ● Fall: We meet from September - November.

       ● Winter: We meet from January/February - March.

       ● Summer: We will meet May–August once a month.

Winter Bible Study

1 Peter 1:3-5 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

This is powerful, imperative, and absolutely jam-packed with theological truths, and we’ve only read the first few verses! John Piper said, “I love the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ not because they turn my life into a string of successes, but because they keep me from collapsing under a string of failures.” Peter was full of fears and failures, but Jesus loved him no matter what. Lydia reminds us in her introduction that “Jesus holds us and will never let go.”

Lydia has a gift of drawing us into the text and giving us some added depth from across scripture. This winter/spring semester, we will use her 10-week study on 1 & 2 Peter. Join your Redeemer sisters as we mine the riches of God’s holy and divine Word.

Sign-ups will be at Redeemer on January 7th and 14th in the front narthex.

Offerings:
Friday Mornings: at 9:30 a.m. beginning January 19th.
Evenings: To be determined.

 Mentoring Ministry:

Heart & Soul

Titus 2:3-5 says:
“Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers
or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,
and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,
to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive
to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.”

We are thrilled that Redeemer has a women's mentoring ministry! In this ministry, women are walking alongside women. Titus 2:3-5 models how women should encourage one another to delight in Jesus as we apply God’s Word to our lives.

Our wonderful mentors co-lead small group meetings. Our fellowship focuses on four important topics:

  • practicing accountability,
  • praying thoughtfully,
  • pondering our book,
  • And building community.

Our desire: We pray that these groups of women grow together, draw near to Christ, and – ultimately – become a blessing to our church family.

  • Sign-ups are December 3rd and December 10th in the front narthex
  • Kickoff luncheon will be Saturday January 13th, and new groups will commence January 2024
